I suppose all the Cu-bearing Smithsonite from the Tsumeb Mine is getting a bit old by now... :)

Here's some more of the stuff, stained by bits of native copper in a few places, on Cu-bearing matrix (with some nicely fluorescing Willemite seams on the rear side, of which I haven't yet taken a picture). Specimen size 58x30x23mm, acquired in June 2009 (collection id 09NASwm01).

No tour d'horizon of Smithsonite would be complete without the intensely lemon-yellow (Greenockite-bearing) examples from Sheshodonnell East Mine, Co. Clare, Ireland... Although the below is a very recent acquisition of mine from Barry Flannery, it's been, in his words, 'over 150 years out of the ground'!

Overall size about 35x40mm, collection id 10IESgm01. (Minor pale-purple Fluorite is present but almost completely covered.)

Just a comment to clear some nomenclature. It is the San Antonio Mine or Mina San Antonio...the "el grande" bit is not part of the official mine name. It does show that way on the government topographic map, but it is wrong!

Thank you Peter, I need to redo some of my labels now.......for the better. Accurate locality names are mission critical.
Cheers
