Mineral: Azurite
Locality: Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Municipio Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico
Dimensions: 17 x 8.5 x 8.5 cm / main crystal size : 5.1 cm

Description: Mass: 1300 g MIM number: 1730 Very shiny crystals developed in parallel groups on a white matrix, the bottom of which is lined with fibrous malachite. The crystals have a very geometric shape as opposed to the average production of this mine and have a beautiful metallic and chatoyant blue color resulting from interference phenomena between the underlying azurite, the thin layer of malachite which has formed on it, and a thin layer of azurite which has later formed on the latter.
