Description: I was so impressed with the water color paintings I have seen that I was considering trying to paint too. My daughter told me that it is very easy to do this sort of work with software – ‘in silico’ – so no paints or brushes are needed. She is buying me some specialized software so that I can produce ‘in-silico’ water colour (and oil paintings too) renderings of my minerals with minimal effort. The renderings created by the software that I have seen so far are outstanding – the ‘in silico’ productions are really nice. My first ‘in silico’ oil painting on ‘in-silico’ canvas. Perhaps not as good as an artist could do but it only took me 10 minutes. With the new software my daughter is purchasing, the results should be much better. When printed on high quality paper and appropriately framed, the result will look nice. We are also looking at creating photos, posters, t-shirts, and perhaps having them screen-printed on quality canvas. I will not put copyright restrictions on my productions – they are free to use for all non-commercial purposes provided full credit is given. We do not need the money – we enjoy doing it so all may benefit.
