Description: The Huanuni Tin Mine is near Llallagua, Bolivia. Mine operations consist of extensive underground workings. There is one known shaft. The workings reach a maximum depth of 700 metre and extend for about 1.2 kilometres. The ore body is tabular containing Cassiterite, Stannite and Sphalerite. The waste rock (gangue) consists mainly of Fluorite, Pyrite and Tourmaline. The host rock in the area is rhyolite and dates from the Pliocene epoch - 5.33 to 2.58 million years ago. Comibol is increasing production by tapping into four new veins – Keller, Bandy, Chuallani and Notaf.
