Description: Mass: 3400 g MIM number:2040 Sharp hexagonal prism of calcite which has been completely coated with small amethyst crystals on top of which a large, superb, translucent elongated rhombohedral calcite grew later. What seems to be another elongated calcite rhombohedron parallel to the large one on the left has been completely coated with larger amethyst crystals, likely from a different growth phase. This entire masterpiece specimen, with its perfect proportions, was attached to the basalt geode in which it formed by the thin elliptical, horizontal section on the bottom front!
