Locality: Deo Darrah, Khash & Kuran Wa Munjan Districts, Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan
Dimensions: 7 x 6 x 6 cm / main crystal: 1.5 cm.

Description: Mass: 114 g MIM number: 2209 Group of blue crystals resembling wheat sheaves, with fibrous terminations, formed on a white matrix (likely feldspar) offering a beautiful contrast. This variety of beryl is alkali-rich and apart from Na, shows increased levels of iron (~1.5 wt.% FeO) and cesium (~0.15 wt.% Cs2O), plus traces of scandium (~0.01 wt.% Sc2O3).
