Description: Description from the dealer: A large “dragon vertebrae”, thunder egg heart, from Mt Jerusalem, NSW. The name dragon verterbrae, comes from the description the local people give to these specimens. Interestingly this location is not listed on Mindat, but the location is accurate. This is a translucent mauve chalcedony quartz specimen, that was once the heart of a large thunder egg, over a long period, the outer section of the thunder egg has eroded away, leaving these interesting pieces. This is a great sized example of this form of quartz.
