Description: Mass: 3113 g MIM number: 2282 Dipyramidal crystal of outstanding size, excellent symmetry, good luster and color (amber-orange, quite dependent on the nature of the lighting), sitting upright on just the right amount of crystallized matrix with all display terminations exposed and showing. Usually more than one termination is buried in the matrix. Here, all but the bottom are free of the matrix. The tips are transparent. It is quite unusual that a crystal of this size could survive extraction totally unscathed. Photographer: Malte Sickinger
