Locality: Minas da Panasqueira, Aldeia de São Francisco de Assis, Covilhã, Castelo Branco, Cova da Beira, Centro, Portugal
Dimensions: 12 x 11 x 21 cm / main crystal: 4.2 cm
Description: Mass: 2100 g
MIM number: 1542
Probable year of extraction : 1986
Large quartz (20 cm) with a smaller side quartz, both covered by intact, flattened, ochre colored rhombohedrons of siderite. A ferberite crystal is at the base. A few small, almost colorless apatite crystals are stuck in the large quartz crystal. The ensemble appears to be floating: the lower portion of the large quartz is entirely recrystallized, while there appears to be a little contact at the level of the ferberite.
