Mineral: Azurite on Volborthite
Locality: Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Municipio Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico
Dimensions: Azurite crystal size: 1 × 0.3 cm
Description: A very sharp, doubly terminated Azurite crystal on Volborthite, an association we must consider something very special, especially considering that the Milpillas Volborthite specimens are probably the world’s best for their quality, luster, and crystal size, and are now considered a new standard for this species.
The specimen has been noted and photographed in the monograph The Milpillas Mine of The Mineralogical Record magazine, on page 620, volume 52, number 5, September–October 2021
