Clear almost colorless Raspite on corroded Chalcopyrite ...
Description: Clear almost colorless Raspite on corroded Chalcopyrite (rimmed with tiny needles of Rhabdophane), on a matrix of Fluorite (top right), Quartz (bottom left) and some yellow Baryte (outside the frame). This is one of two Raspite associations at Clara mine mentioned in Kurt Walenta's book about the minerals of the Black Forest. The crystal stands about .3mm tall in the b[010] direction, marked by the striations, and is .32mm wide in the c[001] direction, across the striations. The field of view is 1.5x1.9mm. The black roof is an artifact of refraction and internal reflection. Raspite is a monoclinic dimorph of Stolzite, but perhaps it is best thought of as a kind of Pb analogue of the wolframite series.
