Description: A true monster-sized pseudomorph specimen! This from my Summer Storm claim near Challis in central Idaho. Here, quartz has faithfully replaced apophyllite crystals up to 6 cm long by 3 cm wide with associated yellow calcite fans overgrown by more drusy quartz. The entire hollow jelly-bean candy-shaped specimen weighs 67 kg and is the largest pseudomorphic specimen of its kind known. Self collected and, at the time this photo was taken, on long term loan.
