Description: Lherzolite (variety of peridotite) Sierra Bermeja (Málaga, Spain) Ronda peridotites are the largest set of these ultrabasic rocks in the world. The specimen here is a lherzolite, a peridotite with olivine and subordinate orthopyroxene and clinopiroxene. Notice the different appearance from dark green fresh olivine in the center and yellowish alteration material next to the edge.
