For me, this travesty took the form of that pesky crystal bridge I’d mentioned earlier, spanning the top of the lower pocket area. There, I had a lot of work to do *before* the pocket material below could be collected. Ordinarily, this is a bad-bad-bad thing to do, working fragile specimens above fragile specimens, too many chances for something to go wrong, for something to fall. And one thing’s for sure, crocoites don’t take damage well! Still, it’s what I had to do to continue on.
