Description: The next morning I walked back to base where I'd left my car at the Cairngorm Ski Centre. The fog came back with a vengeance and the wind blew strong, but I spied out the route before the view was obscured and used a map and compass. After about an hour I came across a large familiar footpath which led me safely off the mountain. I decided to return when there was less snow, which I did six weeks later for one superb day in July.
