Description: Calcite & Quartz Baia Sprie Mine, Baia Sprie, Maramureș, Romania 130 mm x 90 mm x 50 mm The base of the specimen is made of very fine euhedral quartz crystals on top of which white and light grey, botryoidal calcite is deposited. A lateral look at the specimen shows transition from the metallic mineralization (sphalerite, galena, pyrite and possible chalcopyrite) to crypto crystalline calcite, very fine crystallized quartz and to the botryoidal white calcite
