Mineral: Quartz (variety amethyst)
Locality: Piedra Parada (Las Vigas), Municipio Tatatila, Veracruz (Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave), Mexico
Description: Amethyst from Las Vigas, Mexico, was remarkably abundant. There were two quite different types. A very fine and large example of the type with elongated delicate crystals and deeper color.
