Mineral: Hydrothermally Grown Solution Quartz
Description: Pecos River Valley, Chaves Co., New Mexico, USA 6.3 cm x 3.3 cm x 3.5 cm R&D XTALS LLC, Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio, United States Vlad did an experiment on several “Pecos Diamond” quartzes to measure crystal growth. Pecos Diamonds have inclusions of hematite giving them their red color. Unlike the amethyst crystals that had been regrown, these crystals retained their color and inclusions. New growth on the crystals are clear.
