Mineral: Azurite
Locality: Tsumeb Mine, second oxidation zone, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Dimensions: 10.3cm
Description: OK, a wee bit of a liberty, as this is only partly azurite...but the malachite replacement is very aesthetic and specific, leaving the ends of the azurite prisms intact. From the "Perkins Sams" pocket of the early 1980s. Ex Frank Levy and George Elling collections. Photo credit: Joe Budd
