Description: Larderello is a small city on the "Tuscan Metalliferous Hills", with a great history. Its territory is characterized by the presence of boraciferous geysers. It produces 10% of the world's geothermal energy. In 1905 it made the first experience in the world for the production of electricity through the use of terrestrial heat. In 1988 the Records Book reported that Larderello had drilled a 4093 meters well. Among other things, it is the type locality for six mineralogical species.
