Marcasite - Kramstollen (Kram adit), Austria - 2 x 2 cm
Mineral: Marcasite
Locality: Kramstollen (Kram adit), Brixlegg, Kufstein District, Inn Valley, North Tyrol, Tyrol/Tirol, Austria
Dimensions: 2 x 2 cm

Description: These marcasites are of extraordinary origin: They result from reinforcement steel of a massive concrete building of WW II, that was destroyed after the war. The concrete blocks were thrown into the adit with its rich sulfide ores, and were "pseudomorphosed" in the acidic waters. Therefore, the age of these marcasites can be estimated about 75 years now!
