A magnet will tell you if magnetite is present, but I don't see anything that looks like magnetite. As helvine or genthelvite it is much more valuable than garnet!

Hi, I would guess this is helvite from Huanggang.

I actually came across one of Jordi's minerals that were similar.

So genthelvite w/ Quartz I would assume. Thanks

When I procured this from a Chinese vendor I was told it was Garnet from Inner Mongolia. While I can see the color being garnet, the associated minerals tell me something different. As I was research ...

The green is Celadonite, and the provenance is probably not Minas Gerais but rather Rio Grande do Sul state.

I agree that this piece could be from Illinois. I also agree that I don't know such fluorites from England. But I would not rule out that this is maybe from Saxony/Germany. I have seen similar pieces ...

Not England. S. Illinois is most likely, I think.

agreed. That England label is affixed pretty good to this piece but it had no chance of being from England. I just wanted to see if anyone had seen anything in England. Thank you
