I'm headed over to Tasmania from 4 November thru 13 November, or so, then headed towards Bali...can go slow, thinking maybe overland to Darwin then fly up to Bali...Bali for a week and a half to two weeks, then Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia until mid December.
I'm posting this hoping somebody has suggestions tips ideas, connections for mineral collecting, buying and whatnot along the route.
If anyone is going to be in that part of the world and might want to meet up...I could be into that too...
Thanks in advance for any help you can be...
enjoy

I'm assuming that you will be at the Zeehan Mineral Show?

Yep, I'll be at Zeehan.
What would you recommend to bring there?
I'm only going to bring a little bit of material, but would love some insight into what sort of stuff to bring.
Steve, I have you on my list of people to make contact with...
Ray Hill told me to look you up...
let's touch base...
thanks
enjoy

I spent four weeks in VN and Laos last year - feel free to contact me direct for any info. My trip wasn't directed at minerals per se, however I did puzzle a couple of nice ladies in Kontum when I requested to keep a small piece of basalt they were shoveling into a better pile - there were crystals in the vugs. No zeolites unfortunately, just calcite. But it was a great trip. Enjoy, Tom |

There's a wide range of collectors down here. There will be a fair amount of local material available, particularly as we still have some mines currently operating, or only recently closed. I look forward to catching up. By the way - caught up with Adam Wright of the Adelaide Mining Co. today...
