Hello Everyone,

There are some really nice specimens so far. John the Wavellite is gorgeous.

I have a few humble pieces to add today.

I've been enjoying all those specimens from "classic" Pennsylvania localities--thanks, John! The purple (pink? magenta?) antigorite is something.

John - that Pyromorphite is spectacular! Truly a top-notch specimen for a PA Pyromorphite, and I would love to have one of such high caliber for the PA section of our collection someday!

I never realized how woefully under-appreciated PA is on here! It seems that there is little love for the classics of PA on FMF ;)

We have a fairly good PA collection, so I will work on adding some PA specimens over the coming weeks. I'll try to get at least a couple uploaded over the next few days. Hopefully that will help to jump start this PA thread & some of the other members will start posting more PA specimens to the forum!

Here is a really cool Smokey Quartz from a more recent find. It's a floater with no point of attachment, is a reverse scepter & has irregular, and some even curved, crystal faces.

Since several peope seemed to like the PA Rutiles that were previously posted, I figured that people may also like this Reticulated Twin. This is the best PA Rutile that we have in our collection, and one of my favorite PA specimens.

The Botryoidal Wavellite from National Limestone Quarry which is usually green or yellow like the specimem posted earlier in the thread are fairly well known. Here is an example of a large & unusual Stalactitic Wavellite with white color & pearly luster along the cross sections from a more obscure locale that primarily operated towards the end of the 1900's. The individual stalactites appear to have formed after another mineral, possibly Goethite, as shown by the remnants of a black mineral in the center of the cross sections.
