Thanks Bob, i'm glad you like it. I agree, this specimen is quite good for the locality. It is hard to get those without many broken crystals, so i was glad to find that specimen ( https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?p=25817#25817 )

Schorl from Pakistan:
A question related to this specimen: The label of the previous owners say the white mineral is hambergite. But isn't it rather albite on those Shengus matrix specimens?
Description: |
Schorl on white ??? Shengus (Shingus), Haramosh Mts., Skardu District, Baltistan, Gilgit-Baltistan (Northern Areas), Pakistan Specimen height 5 cm, crystal measures 4,5 x 2,5 cm |

I published this specimen before in full view, but i think this photo with focus on the transparent baryte from Saxony is too good not to show it. The golden barytes from the old Erzgebirge mining locality Pöhla in Saxony are widely considered to be the best German barytes ...

Another German baryte that was already published - but now with a much better photo:
"Meißelspat" baryte from Clara Mine in Black Forest, Germany. The barytes change from blue at the bottom to red at the terminations. Specimen size 6 cm.

Presumably the red tips are due to hematite inclusions? The contrasting colors are striking. Very nice specimen....BTW the wulfenite just below if nice too!

I asked the question about the red colour of the baryte tips in German Mineralienatlas forum. Sebastian Möller, a mineralogist who collects Black Forest minerals and thus is an expert for Clara Mine, confirmed that it is hematite that colours those tips.

Nice habit for the cuprite!! Cubo-octahedral I think. Good taste, Tobi!!
Cheers

Hi Antonio,
i must confess that i got this specimen just by chance; it was a gift from my uncle who wants to hand over most parts of his mineral collection. Two days ago i visited him to help him with the organisation and reduction of his collection when i saw this specimen. I asked him if he would give it away - and he just gave it to me ;-)
