Jim and I became involved in the, then, Dallas museum of Nature and Science many years ago when there was talk of building a new facility more centrally located in downtown Dallas. After becoming major donors as well as mineral hall committee members and my involvement with the Gala, the food services and being on the Advisory Board, we now have seen our dream come true in the newly opened Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Ross Perot ran for President of the USA many years ago and is highly regarded. His children, all five of them, gave the Museum 50 million dollars towards building, and thus the name change.
I would like to do our perspective of involvement in this project.
As you know I am a social animal, so expect photos of many faces.

WOW - thank you so much for those first few shots - I had seen a couple photos of the building itself and was intrigued...the shapes were so unusual.
Thanks to your great photos I can now see just how innovative and interactive this Musuem is...what a treasure! Will have to plan a trip to TX someday soon ;)

The museum is breaking all sorts of records for the amount of visitors this first month! Many new people have become members too.

From the museum:
a quick update on the Museum’s progress to date. We have had a spectacular grand opening month that has been a tremendous success. We have had over 50,000 guests visit our museum already and the comments and feedback we have received are fabulous. Today, we passed the 18,000 member mark and seem to be adding by the day. We have already surpassed our goals for special events booked for the whole year! We have already seen thousands of school children in our opening weeks.
