Good news, Berthold finally find out the right locality for the spectacular Chinese Chalcopyrites with Siderite that apeared in the market at the end of 2011. For the moment we can say:

Hezhang County, Bijie Prefecture, Guizhou, China

and in three months we will know the name of the mine. According Berthold the paragenesis is very simple: just Chalcopyrite, Siderite, Tetrahedrite and Calcite.

Good job Berthold! ;-)

A little bit earlier Berthold accomplish his word and we already know through him the right name of the mine of the Chalcopyrites.

It is Kaiwu Mine, so according Berthold, the whole details of the locality are:

Kaiwu Mine, Hezhang County, Bijie Prefecture, Guizhou, China

It is a kind of open pit with some small mining areas and it works for copper (ore), mining mostly Chalcopyrite.

Good job Berthold! ;-)

Thank you for the update Jordi.

This already my third different locality label that I have to write with another locality for such a siderite/chalcopyrite specimen. I hope this is the last one.

Thanks, Peter
