Another miniature piece we recently added. Erythrite from Morocco. This compliments a suite of Erythrite that we have assembled and they are of all sizes. I love the rich colour.

Just got a pretty decent photo of this Tourmailne that I have shown before, this is simply a different photo.

Better photo of this Bunker Hill Mine Pyromorphite. I have become quite attached to this one, it is very beautiful to me.

This is a piece we picked up at our first Tucson show. Very fine plate of Aquamarine crystals on Albite.
About ten inches across.

Gail

That Scovil photo of the elbaite is the one I used in my column piece "Disbelieving Dissolution" in Rocks & Minerals, v. 77, Nov/Dec. 2002. A truly great specimen.

But why aren't we getting sizes anymore?

Because I am getting lazy and super busy all at the same time. I will go back and put sizes in when I can find a moment. It did cross my mind to make that change when I could.
I had just gotten those copies from Jeff Scovil and wanted to add them in between dealing with a dishwasher repairman and cooking dinner...life sure has a way of messing with my mineral enjoyment!
Jon, my Aussie bud, good to hear from you. How are the girls?
John, am coming up for the National Bike Summit in early March again...perhaps we can meet up?
Brooks, yehaw buddy!!! Can't wait to see you in Tucson.
Linda, margarita??? Or two?

PostPosted: Feb 01, 2009 04:47    Post subject: Re: Gail's collection

We were pleasantly surprised to find out we have an invitation to put in a large case of our minerals in Tucson for the Main Show, so we have to get on the ball ( American slang for GET GOING! ) and pack some more minerals for "oddities" and some favourites to display.
We are displaying two cabinets of minerals at the Westward Look in the Lobby on the 7th also, so we will be busy cleaning glass and lucite bases most of the time in Tucson!

I wonder if anyone had a chance to read my guest editorial in the Mineralogical Record this month? Perhaps our cabinet might have a His and Her favourites theme? Still deciding...

Linda, Margaritas it is !!! We'll drink one and bless the Queen. Still a royalist at heart....

Thank you

Our "alien" fluorite from Namibia. It is three inches across. Or....7 1/2 cm by 6 1/2 cm tall by 7cm deep.

The photo was taken by Joe Budd for the dealer we bought it from.
