We were asked to put in a case for the show just a few days before leaving, so we added extras to fit this 6 foot case. We also have a single piece in another case, a Bisbee Azurite of rather large proportions...you might guess it is the one that Evan had in the earliest postings on here. We didn't realize that we would be adding it to our collection until days later.

We hope that those that frequent this site might come by and say hello if in Tucson. More to report later, am just tired and struggling to stay awake right now. We had a MINDAT get together after the set up was finished and a margarita was enough to make me want to sleep. Night all....later!

Antonio, very nice. Where are you exhibiting? Are you going to have that in a case by itself or in a group of oddities at the Main Show? We will be sure to come see your exhibit if you will tell us where it is at the Main Show.
It is time consuming to put in displays, but well worth it isn't it?

Wednesday evening of quite a long day. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner with various friends as well as setting up the display at the Main Show. We met up with the Mindat group after, had a burger and a margarita and I struggled to keep awake to post photos last night! Now, well....am raring to go! So, here are some photos from yesterday evening....

The Main show. What can I say? It is incredible and very exciting, full of happy people and lots of hugging, shaking hands and anxious talk about the beautiful minerals.
I had the great pleasure of hosting a question and answer period after Alan Hart, of the British Museum, gave a presentation about donating to museums. This is a thread I started and that has proven to be very exicitng and informative. We both held this lecture for the SMMP group, the Society of Mineral Museums Professionals. This was a wonderful group and the discussions were lively and quite diversified. I found it very uplifting and I am eager to continue my research. We then went on to the MAD dinner where Tom Moore was our guest speaker. He spoke of minerals of Germany, it was so informative!
It turned into a LONG day! So...without further words.....
