Ahh, so MIM got the famous Dick Jones/Tom McKee smoky quartz twin. I always wondered where that went. What an awesome specimen!
By the way, the locality info should read Mina Tiro Estrella, El Capitan Mountains, Capitan District, Lincoln County, New Mexico, USA. To my knowledge the El Tigre mine was a red herring implemented by Dick Jones to throw other field collectors off the trail of the actual locality.
I am currently the claim owner and am in the process of writing an article about the locality.

It is the depth of the quality of the rare species that is most impressive although I want to be first in line for both the Russian topaz and the phosgenite.

Hello Les
I look forward to seeing you in Beirut to walk you through the rare species I've been lucky to collect since 1997. Actually, I must admit these are my favourite species.

I also should have mentioned your cumengite and one that is not pictured, the Bisbee spangolite. I look forward to being able to take you up on your gracious invitation.

Indeed. And just to name a few of the other rarities it took me a while to get in good "readable" samples: reinerite, stottite, wittichenite, chevkinite, getchellite, jalpaite, alamosite, geocronite, parahopeite, baotite, behierite, buttgenbachite, fresnoite, bikitaite, leadhillite, pezzottaite, sohngeite, oursinite, etc., all awaiting your visit...

Hello Tobi
If truth be known, I did not. I must give credit to the late Miguel Romero who selected it. All I did is purchase his collection when his heirs sold it...

During the years I have visited over 100 public museums of mineralogy.
As you all can see it is a fabulous collection, well worth the trip to Beirut!
I think I may go a second time to re review all marvels and take in some more recent acquisitions.
Best regards
Peter
