The best of the best, as usual.
BUT, this deeply coloured Anglesite looks highly suspicious to me, having seen so many of these when they came out.
In the late seventies/early eighties, some clever guy down there, probably doing kind of a cleaning job, stumbled over a very easy and cheap way to "improve" the colour of all the white and pale-yellow Anglesites that were so abundant at this time. No, surprise, these sold so well that they started even to "bath" nicely saturated yellow ones in their magic solution, with obiously good results....
Only a pic, where the colours may come through more or less right or not, but nevertheless thought- provoking. When the fraud finally became public, quite a few dealers got burned heavily, but I do not think that the faked specimens where thrown into the wastebin;)

Recommended reading : Correcting color enhanced Anglesite
Said this, I never had this Anglesite in my hands but I have seen it inside the show case (and now by its photo) and to me it looks totally natural (and very nice ;-)

Thank you again for all of the great photographs. There was an article in the Mineralogical Record several years ago regarding the fake sulfurs. Also, regarding the Moroccan anglesites, I agree with Jordi about this specimen being natural. The issue was apparently involving someone discovering that by rinsing the anglesites in bromine, it imparted a reddish cast to the anglesites. This one does not give me any indication that is from that batch.

Wonderful specimens as usual! My favourites among the recently posted ones are the giant blue fluorite from France (what a colour AND size!), the elegant beryl and schorl specimens from Pakistan and the two awesome garnets from China with their large "glowing" crystals.

The quartz in photo 1163 -> https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/download.php?id=63803 is indeed a twin. It is, in fact, the only known example of this twin. It was alleged to have been found with others, but is the only one that was preserved. It was in the Richard V. Gaines collection and was sold after his passing. It has been described by Clifford Frondel (1907-2002), famous mineralogist at Harvard University, in a paper (Quartz twin on {30bar32} which appeared in Mineralogical Magazine, vol. 36, no. 282, pp. 861-864, June 1968.

Finally something new from your world-class museum collection!
That grossular from Jeffrey Mine is perfect, one of the best specimens I've ever seen from that locality and also one of the most aesthetic garnet specimens I've seen at all.

I was wondering...is this museum safe? Nowhere is perfectly safe, as NYC learned on 9-11, but I have always thought this part of the world to be a hazardous place to go. Am I too fooled by sensational news reports?

I have my serious concerns also. The grossular specimen '1171.jpg' is absolutely fantastic.
