Thank you Philippe. Unfortunately I do not have room to display them all. About 20% are displayed in a lighted showcase; the remainder is stored in a cabinet with 20 drawers or boxed in flats. On the bright side, everything is well-labeled, photographed, and catalogued, so any particular piece can be found without too much trouble.

My wife would like that. She always sees some animal shapes in rocks :-)

Michael,
I really like your Silver TN 173 and Copper with elongated cubes TN 176. They are all marvelous specimens. My copper specimens don't levitate like yours. A real privilege to look at.
Hello to Laura.
Regards,
Don

Michael, I love your fluorite thumbnails, especially the ones from Annabel Lee Mine and from Nikolaevski Mine. Small but incredibly aesthetic specimens that every fluorite collector would appreciate!

Thank you Tobi. Good to hear from you. It has been very hot here the past couple of weeks, very much limiting the time spent outdoors. A great opportunity to photograph mineral specimens however.

Here a a couple of old timers - thumbnails mounted by Willard Perkins, namesake of the Perky Box. Because of their historical interest, I chose to leave them as is rather than remount them. The rhodochrosite is mounted on a clear comb tooth, which he used quite often.

It has become easy to overlook vanadinite from Mibladen due to the plentiful supplies available in the recent past, but specimens from one pocket collected last year warranted a closer look.
Mineral: | Vanadinite |
Locality: | Mibladen (Mibladen mining district), Midelt, Midelt Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco | |
|
Dimensions: | 2.8 x 5.5 cm |
Description: |
In May 2016 one of the local artisanal miners hit a pocket of vanadinite that was reminiscent of the specimens from Taouz. The vanadinite crystals are attached to stalactitic black manganese oxides. The entire pocket was acquired by one dealer, who had them at Tucson. |

The Bor Pit at Dal'negorsk has produced nice datolite crystals from time to time. In November 2016 some very fine datolites were collected. The specimens consisted of glassy, mint green crystals forming intergrown groups, many associated with milky quartz showing interference growth from calcite. Here are two specimens from this find.
