For those interested in the minerals of the UK, there is a new book available. I have not yet read it, but suspect it will be very good, based on Roy's previous publications

My copy has just arrived. It weighs 5lb (2.7kg) so landed with a thunk. My first impression is that it is superb. I read the section about the area where I collected as a child (Castleton). It is a great summary with superb photos. I would love more detail, but that would have required multiple volumes.

So now I have to find time to place it on my 'serious book' university grade book rest and read it - that will take a while as there is so much information in it. I will report back once I have done so.
