New to the board. Hello everyone. Is there a list somewhere that would tell me if I was looking for a specific color, what minerals would that include? If not, I'm currently looking for blue minerals besides Lapis, Bornite and Kyanite. Thanks in advance.

Check WebMineral's website - you can search based on a variety of attributes, including color. There's probably others as well, so you could try Googling "mineral identification database" and check some of the other websites as well.

WELCOME,

The easiest way for a novice such as yourself is just to google the color of your interest followed by "minerals". In your current case google "blue minerals". A slew of them will pop up. They occur in all shades and some are common while others are rare.

A few collectible blue examples include: Lazurite, linarite, azurite, cumengite and boleite, celestine (from Madagascar), chalcanthite, aurichalite, chrysacolla, turquoise, spinel, smithsonite, fluorite, euclase, labradorite (variety of another) benitoite, hauyne, sodalite, and apatite. Also aquamarine (variety of beryl) and even bluish tinted quartz (ajoite or papagoite inclusions) and calcite. There are others as well as the list goes on, but these immediately come to mind. BOB

... cavansite, sapphire, indicolite (blue tourmaline), tanzanite and in some cases hemimorphite, topaz or baryte ...
