The analysts work for national Geological Survey of Finland, in a research center dedicated to identifying citizen collected ore- and mineral samples. They are very dedicated to their work so I think the reliability shouldn't be a question. I sent the samples there three months ago but got the answer just now due to the volume of samples they have to analyze.

They have an identically coloured fluorite specimen there too. The exact colour of my samples is difficult to catch with a camera for the light conditions vary so much outside where I photograph them.

There is also an investigation lab here in Finland called The West Coast Minerals, by Mr. Joel Dyer, which has Raman Spectroscopy instruments and which provides also good micro- and macro photos of the samples. I am not familiar with these mineral studying techniques but isn't it kind of the the ultimate test for proving minerals? I don't know, please educate me with that. I think I could send one sample there too if this is very interesting for you.

Kara sent me a specimen of the purple mineral, which I tentatively thought was diaspore. I sent a small piece to New Mexico Tech for XRD analysis. It is axinite-Fe, along with minor calcite and quartz. Sometimes these things take time!
