PostPosted: Nov 19, 2018 13:05    Post subject: Mexican Hemimorphite

Last weekend I purchased a rather large plate Hemimorphite from Mexico.
The size, left to right is 20 cm. The color is pink as can be seen.

I think it origins from Santa Eulalia but i'm not sure.
I can't find any comparable specimen on mindat.

Is there anybody out there with knowledge about Hemimorphite from Mexico?

Thanks,
Mathias

Pinkish color stems from very finely divided inclusions of hematite. The pockets these occur in tend to have colorless or white crystals on the back (ceiling), becoming increasingly pink to red brown to dark brown down the ribs (walls) and belly (floor).
