Hi,

I think I may have a smithsonite specimen on my hands but I'm not entirely sure. it was sold to me as botryoidal goethite on a matrix with roselite, but I can't find anything along those lines that looks similar to what I have.

The small milky-grey bulbs (which I think are smithsonite) have a glassy sheen to them. Right underneath them is a layer of black mineral (goethite?). the matrix seems to be a typical gossan matrix, but there's parts of it that are pink and yellow that I'm wondering about.

Also, it looks like smithsonite has very distinct appearances depending on locale, so if anyone could provide insight on where this might be from that would be amazing!
