I picked up a beryl from the new find in Orissa, India. It has a very linear inclusion. I've heard that this can be a hollow tube that filled with debris. Has anyone else seen this in beryl?

Before I might consider the linear inclusion, I would have to be convinced that your 2 cm (less than 1") colorless transparent example is beryl, maybe variety
goshenite (??). BOB

I've seen several beryls from Brazil that had hollow tubes. The tubes ranged in size from fairly slender (like yours) to reaching the exterior of the crystal. I was told that the Brazial ones were due to internal dissolution. Perhaps the same thing is going on in yours.

Here are some of mine: https://www.mindat.org/gallery-25319.html?frm_id=pager&cform_is_valid=1&min=&loc=&u=25319&potd=&pco=&d=&showtype=&photoclass=&phototype=0&checkall=&filtmin=819&filtcountry=0&loctxt=&keywords=&mycol=&orderxby=1&submit_pager=Filter+Search

This is a light yellow heliodor. It blends really well with my index matching oil (vegetable oil). It came out with the new hit of heliodors out of the Orissa area of India. A couple pictures outside the oil are attached.

Second pic of the Beryl. I don't know how to attach multiple pics to the same message.

So your last 2 photos better show the example as being a pale yellow-green heliodor beryl rather than a colorless goshenite variety. I am now more comfortable, especially as Kevin shows some Brazilian stones with similar inclusions. BOB
