A beautiful contrast on that specimen. Nice to see that not only the many many fluorites from Wölsendorf are appreciated but also the "eisenkiesel" quartzes that occured there in several mines and created such wonderful contrasts with the fluorite matrix. A nice Bavarian classic!

That is an awesome specimen with its perimorph (?) in the middle, it looks spectacular with the matrix you can see through this hollow structure. Are all of the fluorites on the specimen hollow?

It appears that the open fluorite is the only hollow crystal. The fluorites at the top of the piece are exposed on the backside and show that they are solid with a coating of quartz. The remaining fluorite crystals could be hollow.

This is more than just great. With that colour and transparency, that perfect condition and a size of 9 (!) cm this is an outstanding museum piece - wow!
