PostPosted: Apr 18, 2019 23:18    Post subject: Lapidary Closed

Came upon some very nice looking specimens today. Apparently a lapidary closed up shop and left some inventory in the front lawn. I am curious to know what i picked up. Here are some photos of a few of my new finds.

Schorl (Black tourmaline) in quartz, Sulphur (yellow), selenite var. satin spar (white), maybe conichalcite (green)?

Example 1 = schorl (black tourmaline) in quartz
Example 2 = sulphur
Example 3 = satin spar variety of gypsum
Example 4 = same exact specimen as 1 but viewed from a different angle
Example 5 = maybe conichalite or (doubtfully) malachite or ??

Basically this agrees with the other respondent. BOB

Example 3 = could also be Ulexite (TV Stone) from Boron, Kern Co., Ca.. The matrix looks right for the location.
