The attached malachite consists entirely of parallel rods.

I believe that this may be a pseudomorph after azurite.

Does anyone have a specimen like this with some remnant azurite on the surface possibly from Morocco?

I will use this in a paper I'm preparing and will share attribution for the owner and or photographer. Publication requires resolution of 300 dpi or higher.

Thank you for looking.

RayStraw,

If you look thru all the photos of Moroccan malachite from your example's locality.......and there are many of them on Mindat......you will find, that while most are just malachite very similar to yours, there are several pictured with both malachite and azurite. Whether they might represent a pseudomorph of one or the other, or just the 2 associated copper minerals, I don't know. BOB

Hi,

there are many specimens of malachite and azurite from Kerrouchene, also many pseudomorphs of malachite after azurite. But actually they show both green and blue parts and you see that the two minerals are combined or that one replaces the other ...

... your specimen just looks like a "normal" malachite specimen from Kerrouchene, not a pseudomorph. This appearence of small malachite needles forming such a bundle is typical for Kerrouchene. But as I said, typical for "normal "malachite.
