Hello Don, Is the matrix entirely Pyrite or combined with another mineral? Dany.
Hi Dany, I think Pyrite.
For sure. There are many combinations with sulfides from Pachapaqui, but these rhodochrosites are typically sitting on pyrite.

Dany, I looked at this specimen just now for the first time since I took the picture to post and it is Rhodochrosite on Pyrite and there are no other associated minerals that I can see.

Nearly 18 cm, again a piece worthy of a museum display. Don, I can't find words for your spectacular specimens, this thread keeps taking my breath away!
But I think it's not only copper after cuprite but also some "fresh" cuprite crystals attached?

Please more stuff from the DLMM (Don Lum Mineral Museum)!!! :-)

Regards
Tobi

Tobi,

Thank you for your nice comments. Yes, there are Cuprite crystals on the specimen and I am keeping it in the dark. It is great to hear from you.

Regards,

Don
