Hello.
I continue to post specimens from Italian Alps.
I like isolated crystals, even better if floating. Nevertheless the 90% of my minerals are on matrix.
I hope you like them.
Best regards.

Hello, Administrators.
I can no longer log in automatically. I have to write the boring password every time. Even if I click on the appropriate box nothing changes. Same thing with "End warning messages".
Could, please, a Site Admin help me by doing it for me? Thanks in advance. Regards.
Not having new photos ready to publish, I take this opportunity to attach some old photos of Brosso specimens.
Best regards.

Hello
I want to share some curious quartzes from the Italian Alps.
I'd like comments, suggestions and -why not?- corrections.
I hope you like them.
Best regards.
Sante
Mineral: | Quartz (smokey) |
Locality: | Formazza Valley, Ossola Valley, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola Province, Piedmont (Piemonte), Italy
|
Dimensions: | 35 x 12,5 x 3 mm |
Description: |
Double terminated Quartz with Tessin habit is quite scarce. Even more if the crystal is very tabular, as in this case. The right termination, which seems damaged, is actually crudely crystallized (possible attachment point). |

Mineral: | Quartz (variety faden), Chlorite Group |
Locality: | Triolet Glacier, Ferret Valley, Les Grandes Jorasses Massif, Courmayeur, Aosta Valley (Val d'Aosta), Italy
|
Dimensions: | 61 x 37 mm |
Description: |
This specimen, in addition to the faden, shows other two features: a disturbed/interrupted growth on the back side and several small extra faces. |

Description: |
Back view. What seemed to be a first generation crystal has actually grown on a previous milky crystal (in turn covered by Chlorite). So the final crystal is a Quartz of third generation (not counting the Chlorite depositions). |
