In fact, we were lucky in Tuscany with gypsum.
Although a common species, here it has produced crystals of considerable size and different shapes.

A particular galena from Gavorrano mine, that needs to be magnified to be appreciated.
This type of crystals is more common in Dalnegorsk and Madan.

Thanks again, Tobi. I'm glad you find these Italian minerals interesting.
Italian mineralogy is generally under represented, therefore on this Forum I preferred to give it priority over minerals from all over the world, however present in my collection in a significant way. I think it was the right choice.
Thank you, Philippe. I appreciated very much your compliment.
As for the Italian ilvaite, don't forget that its type locality is Elba island ("ILVA" was its ancient Latin name).
These calcites come from different quarries, but all show a vivid yellow fluorescence and a nice luminescence.

Indeed it WAS the right choice! As Philippe said, your collection is educational, I really learn a lot about Italian minerals, especially from Tuscany; I never had an idea how much wonderful minerals that part of Italy has. My favourite among the recent ones is that 20 x 14 cm calcite from Roselle, it looks like a coral, crazy and stunning piece!
I hope we will see a lot more, reading your mineralogical trip through Italy has become an educational every day lecture during the last months :-)
Once you have finished this journey, I hope to see specimens from your world-wide collection!

Thank you, Tobi. You are very kind.
As for my world-wide minerals, I'd like to show them but I don't know if the time I have left to live will be enough.
To date I've just posted 5% of my collection and I'm living my 75th year. The bill is done...
Also, I don't have a photographic archive of my specimens and day by day I have to take photos (with my mobile!) of the minerals that I share. And this time, although pleasant and rewarding, is taken away from other activities important for my age. Anyway, I'll get an idea.
