As for my world-wide minerals, I'd like to show them but I don't know if the time I have left to live will be enough. To date I've just posted 5% of my collection and I'm living my 75th year.

Wow, how many specimens do you have in your collection? And you have many very large ones, I think the collection must take a lot of space, how many rooms/displays (houses? ;-)) are filled with your awesome mineral collection?

I hope you will still have a lot of time to enjoy them - and to share them with others!

Hi, Tobi.

Over more than fifty years I have accumulated around 11,000 pieces.
Yes, space is my biggest problem, as for many of us.
Although I have two large rooms and twenty showcases at my disposal, I am able to display only half of my samples. And when I say "display" I use a euphemism: in reality they are stacked, as you can see from the attached photos.
But the most curious thing is that, if I could go back, I would do it again.
Thanks for your kind wishes... and receive warm greetings from Tuscany.

A very impressive collection, Sante. I am guessing that quite a number of your specimens are personally collected.

Take care and stay well.

Regards,

Don

Thank you, Don, for your appreciated comment.

When I was young I didn't have much time for personal research.
Now that I have more time, I no longer have the necessary youth... :-)
Only 250-300 of my specimens are self-collected or exchanged; the rest were purchased at fairs or by other collectors.
But I'm happy like this.

Stay well you too.
A warm greeting from Tuscany.
Sante

Thanks for the photos, Sante, as Don said: VERY IMPRESSIVE!
... 11,000 specimens, this is really incredible, most of us have less specimens:
