I agree, Volkmar, really wonderful! Most aquamarines you see today, though often more spectacular, are from Pakistan, Namibia or Brazil - nice to see such a fine piece from this very old classic Russian locality (mining in that area started 300 years ago!).
And the specimen was once in the Harvard University collection! This makes it even more interesting and valuable! ( https://www.mindat.org/photo-238069.html )

It was just by chance that I found out: When I saw your specimen I wanted to look at more specimens from that wonderful old locality. So I opened Mindat and saw your specimen on an old photo from Rock Currier with the information it was in the Harvard Collection ;-)
Where did you get the specimen from? Too bad that there was no information about that famous background.
At least now you know ;-)

I bought it some years ago from Kevin Ward. I have his label, and attached was an older one. I don't know, from which collection the older label originates. Maybe, someone knows this kind of label, I would appreciate every hint!
