A large list and it seems to be growing. but only very few of these shows are of interest to mineral specimen collectors - Mineral City, Top Gem (and the annex??) and 1801 Oracle — Mineral Village Show (which i think is Sun Gem??).- the Pueblo Inn mineral dealers have been pretty much MIA for the last few shows so i wouldn't include them here.

The old Inn Suites/HTCC show - planned for the El Conquistador for 2021 is still posted as cancelled.- same for the TGMS Main show (which would require lining up the convention center and hundreds of dealers - a tough task). Many previous HTCC dealers were planning to maintain selling rooms at the HTCC (not moving to the El Conquistador) and these are still undecided i think.

For me, without the wide variety of international dealers, the current list of shows just don't seem to make a trip to Tucson worth while - yet.

I suspect that these dates are hopeful/wishful thinking at this point. I have been told by a friend in Tucson who is involved with one of the shows that the local county health department is not currently issuing any permits for these events. If or when they do will depend on a significant drop in the new infection rate, which is fairly high in Arizona at the moment.

It would be nice to think that there will be some sort of a show this coming spring, but given the current situation, I am not optimistic.

I'd agree with the above. I know everyone wants to wish the pandemic away and think that now that some vaccines are SLOWLY being rolled out all is over.... In the US, it is optimistic to expect large shows [VERY limited admission shows MAY be possible] in late April in areas of LOW Covid - but with everyone wearing a mask and social distancing]....but the USA will be LUCKY if FALL shows are even possible! Remember, at this time about 40% of people say they will NOT get vaccinated and that is NOT enough to bring community immunity - so health departments will NOT be issuing permits for a long time, methinks. I have a Masters in Public Health and Epidemiology. Sorry....I'm from the USA, currently living in Europe, and it is even slower here with the roll-out of vaccines where I live. This WILL end, but patience is called for and convincing those who refuse to be vaccinated to change their minds!! There have been no European shows for a long time and I don't expect any for six months to a year....more likely the later unless they are outdoors.........sorry for the negative take...I think it is realistic, sadly. Arizona at this time is experiencing very bad rates of infection, spread and deaths. Try New Zealand is my suggestion.

GJX is not planning on having an April show as they "feel things won’t be much different than they are now".

Fully agree.
As an MD working with committees here in Indiana, a more realistic time frame for in person gatherings might be about the time of the Denver show in September.
And that would be only if(!) the vaccination program is successful and the summer season sees a big decline on virus case numbers. BOB

I'm hoping for the summer shows, where much of the activity is outdoors, like Sainte Marie aux Mines, in France in late June, and Luban, in Poland in early July. Those are quite likely to be safe events, if everyone takes basic precautions.

Hi to everybody!
I wish the summer shows are taking place! It would mean everything is finally over and this bloody war has come to an end! I wish Munich in next October is taking place also! I am regratful of mineral bourses as well as the biggest majority of you is!
Here in Italy the situation is slowly improving, but tthere were over 800 victims on last Tuesday and over 600 yesterday. Hospitalized people amount is decreasing day by day. I just hope it's not only because of the still high number of deaths. But we came again to be the first European country according to the number of deaths.
Greetings from Italy by Riccardo.

I agree with many of you guys, we can be quite sure that there will be no large shows in spring, neither in the U.S. nor in Europe. If all goes quite well, maybe in summer, but I fear mineral shows won't take place for the most of 2021 ...
But let's be patient, health is more important than minerals. I know this is easy to say as a collector whose livelihood is not bound to selling minerals. I'm really sorry for all the dealers who suffer because the business went bad this year :-(

I hope one day there will be a normal life again, at the moment we are far away from that :-(

From reports I am hearing in the mineral community, the mineral dealers who have active businesses selling on the internet are doing well (also helps to not have show and travel expenses). However, there is a long list of dealers who do not do sales on the internet, and those dealers are not doing well.
