Hi Sante, I don't think this is the beginning of a pseudomorphosis. I have often seen this kind of sturmanites from N'Chwaning and I think it's a common form of this mineral from the locality. It's just that not all sturmanites are yellow ;-)

Thank you, Tobi.

Following your information, I saw in Mindat several Sturmanites with the same color as mine.
Nevertheless, Mindat itself attributes to this mineral the color "bright yellow to amber".
Now, if the hazelnut color is relatively common, why not mention it among the typical colors of the species?
I suspect that this color is due to an alteration.

My warmest greetings.
Sante

Check out photo FQG-09W on Mindat. Bruce Cairncross has good commentary on the color as well as a reference to an article in Min. Rec where there is thorough research on these. I got a specimen in the late '80's that is brown and definitely not with clear faces. It resembles what Bruce describes of what came out in that period, and he raised the thought that there might be some darkening due to dehydration.

Hello.

I start sharing the samples from the third shelf of the first of my five showcases dedicated to minerals from all over the world.
Since this shelf is not glass but wood, I was able to accommodate fifteen larger and heavier specimens here.
I hope you find them interesting.

Warmest greetings.
Sante

Nice specimen from Trepca. My partner and I have many specimens from the Trepca deposit. It is a great place to collect some fine minerals.

I agree, very nice specimen - I like the massive intergrown pyrrhotites - and a wonderful locality. I've never been there but I always liked Trepca minerals. Sure, some of them have been abundant on the market for a while but that large pyrrhotite isn't something you see everyday. Nice and heavy classic, Sante :-)

Reminds me of the magnetite I collected in Malaysia back in 1982!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any pictures of Malaysian magnetite.
I would have liked to make a comparison.
Best regards.

Very impressive and showy fluorite from China, I like it :-)

 Mineral: Andradite-Grossular Series
 Locality:
Sibinndi, Commune Diakon, Arrondissement Diakon, Bafoulabé Circle, Kayes Region, Mali
 Dimensions: 75 x 72 mm
 Description:
A big crystal of this intermediate member between Andradite and Grossular, with a text-book rombo-dodecahedral habit and bevelled edges.
I have sometimes seen it labeled "Ugrandite" (Uvarovite-GRossular-ANDradITE), but I doubt this denomination is correct.
