Not quite sure what to make of this. Iit feels like stone all the way around, but obviously looks different. Please help.

sorry it is about4 3/8 long about 2 wide and 1 1/2 inches thick

I think that nobody can help you here. This is a mineralogy forum, not archeology.

If you think it is an archeological object, you should go to a museum.
