| Hello Tobi, From what I can see on Mindat, it looks like "St. Michaelis Mine" is actually a number of different shafts and adits?

As far as I know it was an aggregation of several mines and adits, yes. In German it has the the name "Fundgrube" instead of "Grube" which means that is once was a whole mining claim and not a single mine.

| Thank you for the translation. I saw that word, but it is often hard to find English translations of German compound nouns. I look up the parts and get "Find Mine." This makes sense! I now have a new word as well as a new specimen.

Another nice fluorite twin from Beihilfe. Very much like Weardale twins, but not strongly fluorescent.

I looked in the posting from January 16 2014 and I agree with Bob, the reddish crystals are most likely sphalerite, I added this information to the original post.

Something you won't see often (and I must confess, I have never seen it before) - a precious opal from Germany! I've heard that some were found, but never saw one until our fellow collector and FMF member Andreas Gerstenberg sent me this yesterday. He is not that active here anymore but he allowed me to share it:
